Hacienda Sonora is owned and run by the Guardia Family, Husband and Wife Alberto and Anna along with their son Diego.
It is located in the central valley of Costa Rica at the foot of the Poas Volcano. The farm stretches over 100 hectares and has an old sugar mill on site that is now only used once a year. The farm also has its own mill on site which allows them to produce all their own coffee, they mostly produced honey processed coffee but they can produce washed as well. This lot is a Red Honey which means that a percentage of the mucilage has been left on the bean to ferment which is believed to add more body and sweetness to the coffee.
