The Gisheke washing station is located in the Nyamasheke district and it overlooks the beautiful Lake Kivu which borders the Democratic Republic of Congo. Almost 40% of the coffee arrives by boat as the location of the washing station is so hard to access, roads are currently being built to make it more accessible. The washing station is managed by 3 full-time staff and 134 casual staff and there are 787 farmers who deliver their coffee to this washing station.
