Rugali is located on the shores of Lake Kivu and was built in 2016, the washing station produces 54,000kg green coffee a year from over 1150 local farmers. Rugali was one of the first washing stations in Rwanda to produce and export natural and honey processed coffee legally. Until recently the Rwanda government kept strict control on only producing and exporting washed coffee to preserve the countries reputation of selling quality coffee.
