brazil fazenda río brilhante yellow bourbon - filter
Inacio Carlos Urban first arrived in Minas Gerais in 1976 and in 1984, he bought a farm in Cerrado, Mineiro. Named Rio Brilhante, Fazenda Rio Brilhante translates to ‘bright river’ - the crystal-clear waters of the Guarani Aquifer which nourish the farm are what Inacio is referring to.
Fazenda Rio Brilhante has achieved many certifications as a coffee plantation. Its most crucial certification being its Rainforest Alliance Certification which requires 40% of the land to be covered in canopy to prevent soil erosion and encourage biodiversity.
Coffee from Rio Brihante is grown on two farms across 1600 acres at an average elevation of 1150 meters above sea level in the Pantano microregion of Cerrado.
Sweet, delicate-bodied, and complex, Yellow Bourbon has a lot to offer. Yellow Bourbon is a subtype of Bourbon that has fruit which ripens to a yellow colour and has a cup profile that is typically higher in acidity than red bourbon.
