Fifteen years of high quality, specialty coffee. We’ve learned a thing or two. We’re available around the clock to assist our wholesale customers with any question or concern.
In its early days, eighthirty began as a small team of two, roasting coffee in a quaint shop on Karangahape Rd in the heart of Auckland City. Today, we have grown into a well-established specialty coffee roaster, cherished by a rapidly expanding community and valued partners.
Our commitment to quality transcends coffee and permeates every aspect of our operation. From sourcing milk from Plant Projects to selecting sustainable packaging from Decent Packaging, to our meticulous approach to hiring and training staff, and the warm hospitality we extend to each customer during every visit to our cafes.
Since we started roasting coffee back in 2009, we had one goal in mind. Roast high quality specialty coffee while ensuring everything we do supports a sustainable and ethical coffee community. Every decision we make is for the benifical purpose of creating a sustainable, practical, ethical and regenerative way of roasting coffee. It's imperative to us that our impact on this Earth is as light as possible.
The year that took alternative milks into the mainstream. Milking cows are out, and rightly so! We teamed up with the epic crew at Plant Projects to offer our eighthirty customers a kiwi owned and operated milk alternative. These guys are new to the scene but are taking off in ways no one could have imagined. The time of the oat is upon us.
We're working alongside 'Sustainable Coastlines' to help turn us into a 'Net Positive' business. This means going further than offsetting a few tons of carbon. It's a re-assessment of how we go about supporting other small business through our coffee and in any other way we can. To see the work their doing around the country, visit them here
From our roastery in Auckland CBD our beans head out to the grinders of 60+ nice establishments across Aotearoa. In 2017 we launched our first fleet of buckets in hopes to reduce packaging waste to our local Auckland wholesale cafe customers. While we think it's great that we pack our coffee in compostable bags, we're well aware that access to composting facilities is not as easy as it would like to be - yet!
This year, we became offical members of 1% for the Planet. This means that 1% of our annual revenue goes towards selected charities protecting the Planet and its inhabitants. Charities selected are vetted through the organisation ensuring that they comply with the non-for-profit standards.
